Logan Peak Trail Run
Buffalo Run Adventures
Logan, UT • 28 Miles
"If you’re planning to run the Bear 100, this will give you a small taste of what you will experience there. You’ll witness beautiful scenery, including mountain views, river crossings, snow, single-track trails, and even some cows. ;) This has become a yearly family favorite, and although I’ve always managed to come in last in my group, I feel that this low-tech, homegrown trail race has become one of my favorites. The trail markings are good, the staff is awesome, and the aid stations are sufficiently stocked with goodies. The finish line is family-friendly, where you can enjoy food, drinks, and cheers. I highly recommend this fun trail race."

Whiskey Basin Trail Runs
Aravaipa Running
Prescott, AZ • 60K
"I really enjoyed this race! The 60k race starts with a short bus ride to the start and 99.9% trail to the finish. You’ll enjoy beautiful views, rolling terrain and friendly crews at the aid stations. We loved that you can camp near the finish line and are still close to town for some modern conveniences if needed. The finish line had an awesome atmosphere with plenty of space, music and good food. I will run this race again and you should give it a go. "

Telluride Mountain Run
Highline Running Adventures
Telluride, CO • 24 Miles
"I’ve run the 40-mile version of this race twice and the 24-mile race twice. This is the most beautiful and challenging race I have attempted. The altitude contributes to some of the most breathtaking views (pun intended) and the most challenging terrain. This race is definitely not intended to be your first trail race, and I wouldn’t recommend it to the untrained or uninitiated trail athlete, but it should absolutely be on your bucket list! This is a well-organized race, and I’ve never felt unsafe on the highest peaks, knowing the safety crew is watching. The aid stations are well stocked with friendly people, along with good food and drinks ready for grab-and-go. The finishing rewards are always useful and creative, and the finish-line atmosphere is fantastic. Did I mention the incredible views? Train hard and run this race! You will never regret it."

Running Up for Air - Grandeur
Up for Air Series
Salt Lake City, UT • 12 Hour
"I ran the twelve hour race in 2025 with my son. The weather created perfect trail conditions for a winter race. We experienced a variety of conditions during our time on the course including a beautiful sunrise, blizzard conditions, extreme cold and sunny blue skies. This race has one base aid station that had a variety of sugary treats, drinks and food. They had freshly cooked food including cascades, sandwiches and bacon! You can also take advantage of the warming tent near the grills while you enjoy a quick meal before heading out for another out and back. The staff were helpful, very positive and encouraging. This race raises money to improve local environmental issues which makes this race totally worth your time. I highly recommend giving this race a chance and you really can’t beat those mountain panoramic views over and over again. "

Running Up for Air - Grandeur
Up for Air Series
Salt Lake City, UT • 12 Hour
"I signed up for the Running Up For Air – Grandeur race in February as a way to kick off my running season on a strong note. The event exceeded my expectations, with exceptional organization that ensured everything ran smoothly—from tracking participant times manually to keeping a clear record of when runners ascend and descend the mountain. Though it was an out-and-back course, the cold weather did little to detract from the experience. The views from the top were absolutely breathtaking, and each ascent offered a unique perspective of the landscape. One of the highlights of the race was the sense of community among participants. Despite the occasional crowding, the runners were always friendly, creating a supportive and welcoming atmosphere. I truly enjoy races like this where I can connect with others who share a passion for running and appreciate being out in nature, even alongside strangers who share that same love. Though the conditions were cold, snowy, and wet—typical for the time of year—it was important to be prepared for the unpredictable weather. The fast-changing conditions on the trail made it a challenging but incredibly rewarding experience. Completing my first 12-hour race was an unforgettable achievement, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to have taken part in such a well-executed event."

Telluride Mountain Run
Highline Running Adventures
Telluride, CO • 40 Miles
"I’ve had the privilege of participating in the Telluride Mountain Run twice, and while I unfortunately had to DNF at mile 30 during my second attempt due to an injury, both experiences were incredibly rewarding. The race offers a stunning and unique opportunity to run through the breathtaking mountains surrounding the town. The event is very well organized, with excellent aid stations serving delicious food, and the volunteers are always cheerful and encouraging, which adds a lot to the overall atmosphere. That said, training is essential, especially for higher elevations. The race rarely drops below 10,000 feet, and the altitude can make breathing challenging at times. However, the breathtaking views and the constant array of beautiful sights make every tough moment worthwhile. Despite the physical demands and the soreness that lingers afterward, the joy and sense of accomplishment I feel from running the Telluride Mountain Run is something I’ll always cherish. It’s a race I look forward to returning to year after year."
